Construction Update

Proctor Construction company recently notified us that there will be a likely delay to obtaining the Certificate of Occupancy due to late procurement of several types of structural steel.

The steel structure of the Sanctuary roof is very complex and takes many different sizes of components to make up the entire roof structure. Only a few of the support beams were in short supply – but like a puzzle, progress cannot be completed until all of the pieces arrive. A diagram of the steel structure is shown below.

We are fortunate to have a great team with Proctor Construction company and they are taking extra efforts to try and speed up procurement of the missing pieces. Until all the pieces arrive, Proctor is building out the western part of the church for the Narthex, Breakout Rooms, Nursery, Vestry/Flower Room, Music room, the rest rooms and the canopy walkway.

Our top priorities above schedule are still being met. Quality in design, function, aesthetics and construction; Budget control; and safety of the workers building our beautiful church.
