WE HAVE A BUILDING PERMIT!!!!!

After a protracted delay in the architect and engineering firms incorporating required Fire Protection requirements, we received our Building Permit on the 13th of February. Our Proctor team immediately notified the first contractors for mobilization beginning the first week of March in filling the base for the new foundation. We will be seeing construction activities ongoing for about 16 months. Some immediate changes:

• North Parking lot

  • Proctor’s site discussion with the foundation and steel contractors determined the necessity in losing our paver walkway at the beginning of March. Originally envisioned to remain in place for over a year, the large trucks needed for this initial heavy work means that the oak tree at the corner of the CCL building and the paver walkway must be removed. There will no longer be further access through the Preschool once work begins. Instead, we will have to make provisions for providing access through the West door of the CCL building for worshippers walking along the existing sidewalk on the north side of Royal Palm street. Unfortunately, placement of the new driveway curb and sidewalk will not be done until the end of the project to protect these new structures from the heavy truck traffic.

  • The wooded area in the North Parking lot expansion will be cleared in March. The city has approved trees for removal, with a similar amount and species to be replanted in the final landscaping. In the meantime, this area will be temporarily fenced as an equipment and material laydown. Normal Sunday parking will be unaffected.

• Preschool

  • Because we are not permitted to use the underground conduit in the city right of way, temporary and permanent power to the new Sanctuary must be placed in a trench through the Preschool playground on the north side of the CCL building. This is expected to occur sometime in March and take several weeks. It cannot be delayed. The majority of the existing fenceline and landscape will remain. Proctor will coordinate the reconfiguring of the new fence entrance on the east end and resod the grassy area with new. The trenching will also include a new fire water line to make this a one and done effort.

In the near future, there will be a groundbreaking ceremony that will be announced and made widely available for attendance.
