Children's Music Ministry
First Presbyterian Church
We are intentional about the process of learning basic music skills and preparing music that
allows us to use those skills as we sing and act as worship leaders.
Through the use of a graded church music educational curriculum, we offer children
opportunities to learn to sing better and to learn to read music. The church plays a major
role in the community as a leader in music eduction and we take that role to heart!
Our goals are to help children explore and discover the natural rhythm in their bodies, to
broaden musical concepts, to have many children singing in tune with a pleasing quality, to
improve body coordination and to learn a repertoire of songs and hymns for life-long use.
We sing, play instruments, dance, play games, have FUN and participate in worship on a
regular basis, about once every 4-6 weeks.
The Christmas Pageant ministry is a vital part of the children's music program at First
Presbyterian Church. Under the direction of Mr. Jerry Garrett, the children perform a
Christmas show annually incorporating music, drama and dance.
